So what is the source of our business? What transpired this year to make 2011 successful? I have been analizing the business looking for trends and windows of success I can build on. Here is what I have found:

• Cotner Building Company built 3 models/specs this year. Two were featured in the Canyon County Parade of Homes in June.
• As of December, we had built 5 custom homes and have 2 more custom projects in the ground with 3 more in design stage for 2012.
• Of the 7 custom projects, 5 were built for Empty Nester Clients and 4 were cash transactions with no banks involved.
• Remodel work picked up for us as well, with 5 jobs. Two of those were major VA remodels for disabled veterens. It has been a blessing to let your talent serve those who have paid the most.

But for all the homes and remodels we have been involved with this past year, its the relationships I will cherish the most. From working with real estate professionals in my industry to expanding my client base, the relationships we build will be valued the most.

This home has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and a separate den or living area. All of this and our special Energy Star Plus features like a variable speed high efficient gas furnace with a modulating gas valve that only distributes enough gas to heat your home to the set point on the thermostat. That combined with our upgraded touch screen digital programmable thermostat makes this home extremely comfortable and saves the Moore’s hundreds of dollars each year in utility costs.

Two Exclusive Communities feature two of Cotner Building Company’s latest creations.

The Springtime Model is the feature of Rockwell Village subdivision in Nampa. This empty nester style community features homes for families of all ages but most homes cater to the needs of Empty Nesters. Most homes are single level and designed with Universal Design or Aging in Place components including no threshold entrances, wide hallways and doors, accessible kitchen and master bath. The Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) is a designation program by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) that teaches the technical, business management, and customer service skills essential to competing in the fastest growing segment of the residential remodeling and home building industries: home design and modifications for the aging-in-place.

The NAHB Remodelors^TM Council, in collaboration with the AARP, NAHB Research Center, and NAHB Seniors Housing Council, developed the Certified Aging in Place Specialist program to provide comprehensive, practical, market-specific information about working with older and maturing adults to remodel their homes for aging-in-place.

A Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) has been trained in:
